🚀 Every month we have a Work-Smarter-Not-Harder-Day at AskCody
Say whaaaaat?
Every first Monday of the month we take a day out of the calendar and get together as a Marketing team and tackle one of the larger, hideous tasks no one likes to do, and you never get to during your day-to-day work. These are tasks that, when done, make a significant impact. And instead of drawing straws and dumping it on one of us, we put our shoulders under it together.
It usually comes with a selection of candy 🍬 (comfort food), really bad sing-along and danceable music🕺, and many liters of coffee ☕️, (some of us prefer tea... we don't really talk about that). Our playlist of 90´s boy- and girl-bands is available on request ➡️ Just write 90´s in the comments
Examples of tasks we have been through are:
- Correct SEO errors/warnings on top 50 pages --> 1,5% visibility increase
- Reducing Image Size/and file format on important website pages --> increasing page speed, improving share of traffic
- Cleaning up our Marketing drive folder structure --> saving time every time we need to find something.
- Building the Glossary on askcody.com
And those results are really nice, but in my opinion, the biggest win is the teambuilding component. there tends to be a really good mood; some even get the Friday feeling on a Monday. And everyone gets to share their type of music; we don´t judge :-)
Why am I sharing this? Don´t know, maybe I just wanted to share I had a really nice Monday, or you can see it as inspiration. What task do you have waiting for you that could do with a Work-Smarter-Not-Harder-Day?
